About Dr. Irina Owen

Dr. Irina Owen is a licensed psychologist specializing in forensic evaluations with youth and adult clients. She received her doctorate from the APA-accredited counseling psychology program at Northwest University and completed her APA-accredited internship at Southeast Human Service Center in Fargo, North Dakota.

Her areas of forensic expertise include evaluations for competency to stand trial, criminal responsibility, sentencing mitigation, civil commitment, juvenile transfer, risk assessments, and school threat evaluations. She has provided services in settings such as private practice, correctional facilities, schools, and a forensic state hospital.

Prior to her forensic work, Dr. Owen volunteered as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for court-involved youth, and led a book club for youth in detention in Pierce County, Washington. She also served military youth and families at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, and authored her dissertation on strengthening relationships in military families.
